Some Old Guy's

Weary by the Midway

Walking by the wall that is the end

Every panel looking just the same

Is the gap where life begins again

Up the hill and lying without blame?

Seeing every fork in every road

Reflected through the rear-view mirror's eyes

Down in the dust where every stick and stone

Disappear with the waning of the light

 I'm riding with the sun

 There's room for another one

Where the lights are getting low

 Downtime before the show

Sit there and take a break

All life is what's at stake

 Don't even try to start

Just lay down all the cards

The road less traveled I was told before

Would take me where I really want to be

Wondering if it's not true anymore

If someone out there really waits for me

Dark skies hardly showing any warmth

Though the clouds are never really there

Rains that call the answer more than once

Washing down the world that never cared

 I'm moving with the earth

Kicking up much more than dirt

Don't stop and wait for the dark

To put fear back in my heart

 Tricks never disagree

 Flew another one past me

If it was worth the wait

Will you be there by the gate?
