Getting Nowhere
The reflection in the window
A familiar stranger's face
Seeing outside looking in
To the emptiness of space
Lost now and found again
Moving at the speed of thought
Between dreams and memories
An old train without a cause
Lightning flashes seen from overhead
Light up a rainy world where we all bled
Awake while sorrows there are getting drowned
Await the thunder roll to hide the sound
All the worries of the road
Coming one after the next
Linger on despite the past
Forget there ever was the rest
Lying eyes that see the truth
Closed and blinded in the dark
Still unblinking in their gaze
Cloudy windows of the heart
Thoughts beside the visions of the one
Blurred into the colors of the dawn
Pools of empty promise filled with lies
Every single one I kept inside
Cold breath on the skin
Touch a weary state of mind
A million words unsaid
Getting heavier in time
Call the name that's on the tag
In a voice unheard before
Break the spell of giving in
Run up to the sliding doors
