The Memory of Pain

Got another to live with

I got room for one more

But what the hell does it matter

And who the hell's keeping score

The rage inside me is boiling

Slowly pushing the day

I'm holding fast for that someone

Worth every ounce of the pain

The heights that you would take me

A question now of maybe

The past that you pine under

Is what I'm here to conquer

Run the rope twice over

Untie the knot if you can

Said goodbye to the riddles

By the sword in my hand

Marked again by the forearm

Cold steel under the skin

Shot straight up into my head

The battle there to begin

The heights that you would show me

For our own eyes only

The song you hear in your head

For one unending moment

Coz the lights go on forever

On the road to never

And the memories within us

Recall the pain that was
